Job Description
The Field Assistant will carry out research in the local communities where they live. The research is implemented in and around Ofua, Ocea, Siripi, and Eden zones. They will be trained in Anthropological methodology.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Attend onboarding and comprehensive training in anthropological methodology
Conduct anthropological field research in coordination TL and HQ research team: participant observation and ethnographic field notes.
Ensuring quality of the planning, implementation and follow-up of activities
Follow local initiatives by community members (including RLO activities)
Follow community structures and their engagement with Humanitarian Development Peace actors on conflict handling
Participate in relevant review and coordination meetings in the basecamp.
Conduct semi-structured interviews of refugees and community members in accordance with plans and instructions by research leads.
Attend weekly supervision session online
Share weekly report on ethnographic fieldnotes (and interviews when relevant) to inform weekly supervision session

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to be able to work independently with high integrity towards the research and the research participants. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Good interpersonal skills
Respected in local community and access to local leaders
Experience with conducting ethnographic research or interview
Languages: (indicate fluency level in your CV)
Advanced English proficiency
Nuer proficiency
