External Communications
Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists. Pitch stories, respond to media inquiries, and manage media coverage.
Press Releases: Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other public communications.
Content Creation: Develop and manage content for external communications, including newsletters, blog posts, social media updates, and website content.
Brand Messaging: Ensure consistent and accurate brand messaging across all external communication channels.
Public Affairs
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, industry associations, and advocacy groups.
Policy Monitoring: Monitor legislative and regulatory developments that impact the organization and provide analysis and recommendations.
Advocacy: Develop and implement advocacy strategies to support the organization’s goals and influence public policy.
Event Coordination: Organize and coordinate events such as press conferences, public meetings, and stakeholder briefings.

Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional certifications in public affairs or communications is a plus.
Experience
Experience Level: 3-5 years of experience in external communications, public relations, public affairs, or a related field.
Industry Experience: Experience in the industry relevant to the organization (e.g., healthcare, technology, non-profit) is advantageous.
Track Record: Proven track record of managing media relations and public affairs campaigns successfully.
Skills and Competencies
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Media Relations: Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with media professionals.
Public Affairs Knowledge: Understanding of public policy, government relations, and advocacy strategies.
Content Creation: Proficiency in creating compelling and informative content for various platforms.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze media coverage and public sentiment data to inform strategies.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with media monitoring tools, social media platforms, and content management systems.
