Operation of Treatment Plant:
Operate and monitor all equipment and processes involved in the treatment of wastewater, including pumps, valves, filters, clarifiers, and chemical dosing systems.
Adjust process parameters to ensure optimal performance of the treatment plant.
Monitoring and Testing:
Regularly sample and analyze wastewater and effluent at different stages of the treatment process.
Monitor key parameters such as pH, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), suspended solids, and other relevant metrics.
Record and maintain accurate data logs and ensure all readings are within acceptable limits.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all ETP equipment to ensure continuous and efficient operation.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues.
Repair or replace faulty equipment as necessary.
Chemical Handling and Dosing:
Manage the storage and handling of chemicals used in the treatment process, such as coagulants, flocculants, disinfectants, and neutralizing agents.
Prepare and apply chemical doses as required by the treatment protocol.
Ensure safe handling practices to avoid chemical spills and accidents.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure that the treatment plant operates in compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by environmental authorities.
Maintain records of compliance and operational performance for internal and external audits.
Safety and Environmental Protection:
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Participate in safety training programs and emergency response drills.
Implement measures to prevent and control environmental pollution.
Efficiency:
Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the treatment process.
Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize plant operations.
Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to enhance system performance.

High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
Technical diploma or certification in wastewater treatment, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.
Professional certification such as Certified Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator may be required or beneficial.
Experience:
Relevant experience in operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plants, typically 2-3 years.
Experience with specific types of treatment processes and equipment used in the industry is advantageous.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in operating and maintaining various ETP equipment and systems.
Knowledge of wastewater treatment principles, practices, and regulations.
Ability to use analytical instruments and interpret data to monitor treatment processes.
Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:
Strong analytical skills to assess treatment plant performance and identify issues.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational problems effectively.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate monitoring and reporting.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
Capability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to hazardous materials.
