QUALITY PLASTICS UGANDA LIMITED is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to handle electrification, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems, machines, tools, and equipment according to schedule or instructions. The goal is to ensure smooth operation of the plant and full functionality of the equipment. The candidate must be performance-driven, possess strong organizational and planning skills, and be proficient in problem-solving and motivating others. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Mukono.
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, machines, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, machines, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components under normally running condition to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and ensure compliance with codes as a part of predictive maintenance
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system
Troubleshoot and repair problems related to electrical issues within the assigned area to minimize down time of the equipment
Execute scheduled maintenance activities
Record all maintenance activities as per internal procedure and guidelines
Update Foreman / Supervisor with information which could be helpful in analysis of the fault to prevent similar problems in the future
Perform any other assigned duties if and when needed

Minimum Experience: 5+ years as electrician, min. 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing industry.
Minimum Education: Diploma in Electrical
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of Electrical Circuits, drawings, Protection Schemes, Instrumentation, PLC IO troubleshooting, Automation systems and Calibration procedures, Fire
Alarm and Fire Fighting systems as per assignment
Excellent knowledge in English (verbal and written)
Good Knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Good knowledge of applicable standards, local rules and regulations
Basic Knowledge and understanding of Plastic recycling
