Job Description
Ensures that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported
Duties and Responsibilities
Driver Roles
Operates and maintains transportation vehicles with a focus on safety and courtesy.
Performs daily vehicle inspections and fills out daily inspection forms.
Performs minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles when necessary.
Manages the logging, fueling, and computation of monthly vehicle fuel consumption.
Ensures that periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported.
Ensures that vehicles are clean.
Documents staff usage of vehicles.
Prepares to trip reports.
Prepares accident and incident reports as necessary.
Provides safety briefing to passengers.
Logistics Assistant Roles
Petty procurement of office consumables.
Taking charge of the office generator (fueling and service).
Checking functionality/expiry of firefighting equipment.
Posting and collecting mail from the Post Office.
Delivering office supplies to district health Office and health facilities.
Supporting the store’s assistant with loading and off-loading supplies, arranging stores, and any other stores-related tasks assigned.
Supporting the coordination of logistical requirements during events like training, workshops, and meetings in the field.
Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Competencies
To be successful, you will have:
Must have completed O’level.
Possession of a valid Ugandan driver’s license - Classes: B, DL, DM.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position, preferably with a USAID-funded agency or nongovernmental organization.
Training in defensive driving.
Ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle safely and appropriately, including the ability to read and interpret road signs in English.
Ability to read, understand, and adhere to the rules and regulations of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and the Government of Uganda.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to establish good working relationships with, co-workers, and upper-level staff.
Team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse social and cultural environment.
Ability to prepare concise and accurate records and reports; extensive knowledge of the operations and features of assigned vehicle(s).
Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs; ability to perform minor vehicle repairs; skilled in reasoning skills to interpret policies and procedures, and route directions; and
Ability to administer First Aid.
Required Competencies:
Excellent interpersonal, writing, and English language oral presentation skills.
Strong skills in teamwork and networking. Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
Team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse social and cultural environment.
Good working knowledge of computers with the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
