Job Description
The Donor Relations Assistant will support the External Relations, Strategy, Knowledge and Innovation Division (ERSKI) by gathering and analyzing donor intelligence, identifying funding opportunities, and contributing to the preparation of donor briefings and meetings. The position plays a key role in tracking resource mobilization trends, updating internal systems, and ensuring timely information flow to project teams to align fundraising strategies with the organization's broader goals. This consultancy is pivotal in supporting UN-Habitat’s new strategic plan and enhancing private sector engagement.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Support the development and maintenance of a donor intelligence system that captures funding trends, donor profiles, and engagement history
Monitor and compile donor funding opportunities and calls for proposals
Assist in drafting donor profiles, briefing notes, and talking points for high-level meetings
Provide analytical support to enhance private sector engagement strategies
Update and maintain the internal tracking systems and dashboards related to donor engagement and project pipelines
Coordinate with program teams to ensure timely collection of information for donor reporting and proposal development
Assist in compiling data for the organization’s resource mobilization strategy and periodic progress reports
Provide administrative and logistical support for donor meetings and events
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications and Experience:
A university degree in International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field
At least two (2) years of relevant work experience in donor relations, resource mobilization, or public information
Familiarity with international development, donor agencies, or the UN system is an asset
Competencies:
Strong research and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to synthesize complex information clearly and concisely
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and data visualization platforms
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential information
Languages:
Fluency in English is required
Knowledge of French or another UN language is an asset
