Job Description

The digital traffic manager is responsible for multitasking at a high level while maintaining strong relationships both internally and externally. The role requires full utilisation of Chase, including tasking, timesheets, whiteboard, and cost vs hour management per resource. The manager is expected to share all managed accounts equally and uphold the highest quality standards throughout. Key responsibilities include creative management, skill allocation per brief, and overseeing pitch and logistics management across the board. The manager ensures the smooth and consistent operation of the traffic department and effective resource management to meet team and client demands. This includes planning and scheduling projects within time and budget constraints, managing projects to reflect the creative output of the Lead Employer, and handling all administrative tasks such as estimates, timing plans, and meetings. The manager will communicate project status and potential problems with solutions to the teams in a timely manner, proactively facilitating the smooth flow of projects to meet team and client expectations. The manager takes ownership of projects from inception to completion and demonstrates leadership and passion throughout.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key performance indicators (KPIs):

Project management:

  • Effective resource management to meet team/client demands

  • Planning and scheduling of projects within time and budget constraints

  • Managing projects to a high standard reflecting the creative output of the lead employer

  • Managing all administration (estimates, timing plans, etc.) and attending/arranging all project meetings/briefings as required

  • Communicating project status/potential problems with solutions to teams in a timely manner

  • Anticipating and proactively facilitating the smooth flow of projects through the agency to meet team/client expectations

  • Taking ownership of projects from inception to completion


Client service:

  • Working closely with relevant account and creative teams, ensuring effective communication and management of team expectations

  • Collaborating with account teams to understand the client’s brand and managing projects to support the brand delivery

  • Ensuring all team members follow the correct procedures/agency processes, and communicating any changes to/breaches of them

  • Actively encouraging and facilitating collaboration within the team and other departments within the agency


Business management:

  • Driving daily business activity toward account profitability

  • Ensuring financial administration is of a high standard and dealt with on time

  • Maintaining tight control of project budgets and deadlines, and immediately communicating any issues to the team

  • Prioritising workloads to ensure team demands are met and managed


People:

  • Building relationships within the team to aid efficient communication and collaboration

  • Developing personal skills and knowledge through on-the-job development and active participation in the agency and department

  • Providing feedback to the creative director regarding improvements to the department and agency

  • Creating clear development plans for personal growth and working to achieve those goals

  • Actively supporting and involving team members to resolve issues and encouraging collaboration to make the lead employer a great place to work

Qualifications and Competencies

Required knowledge and experience:

  • Must have at least three to five years of experience in a traffic role

  • Extensive knowledge of the industry and how to implement systems and procedures according to each client’s needs

  • Maintaining high-quality control at all times


Required skills:

  • Mastery of multitasking

  • Efficient and effective management and coordination of diaries and workflow requirements

  • Problem-solving and crisis management skills

  • Ability to plan work thirty days in advance for all accounts

  • Prioritising briefs, accounts, and workflow

  • Epson machine management

  • Proficiency in Chase scheduling/tasking/whiteboard/timesheet management and report generation


Required behaviours:

  • Must have a passion for people, systems, and processes, and a can-do attitude

  • Must be consistent in managing accounts as well as overall structure and people skills
