Reporting to the Marketing Assistant, the Customer Service Assistant is responsible for ensuring a positive and professional customer experience as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, concerns, and assistance.
Customer Interaction:
Respond to Inquiries: Answer questions and provide information about products, services, and policies via phone, email, chat, or in person.
Handle Complaints: Address and resolve customer complaints in a courteous and efficient manner.
Support Services:
Process Orders and Returns: Assist customers with placing orders, processing payments, and handling returns or exchanges.
Provide Technical Support: Help customers troubleshoot technical issues with products or services.
Information Management:
Update Customer Records: Maintain and update customer records in the company's database.
Documentation: Document customer interactions and transactions, noting details of inquiries, complaints, and actions taken.
Problem-Solving:
Identify Solutions: Work to identify solutions to customer problems, escalating issues to higher levels of support when necessary.
Follow Up: Follow up with customers to ensure their issues have been resolved satisfactorily.
Product Knowledge:
Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with product knowledge and any changes in company policies or services.
Educate Customers: Provide customers with detailed information about products and services to help them make informed decisions.
Sales Support:
Upsell and Cross-Sell: Identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products and services.
Promotional Activities: Inform customers about promotions, discounts, and special offers.
Team Collaboration:
Coordinate with Colleagues: Work closely with other team members to ensure a cohesive customer service experience.
Share Feedback: Provide feedback from customers to help improve products, services, and customer experiences.
Multitasking:
Manage Multiple Tasks: Handle several tasks simultaneously, such as managing phone calls while entering data into the system.
Prioritize Workload: Prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build Relationships: Establish and maintain positive relationships with customers, fostering loyalty and repeat business.
Customer Satisfaction: Strive to ensure that customers are satisfied with their experience and the support they receive.
Training and Development:
Continuous Learning: Engage in ongoing training to improve customer service skills and stay updated on new products and services.

At least a Diploma in Marketing, or other related fields with at least one year's proven work experience in a customer service
A proficiency in at least 2 Ugandan dialects is a basic minimum
Excellent communication skills with the ability and patience to manage challenging customers
Organized and able to accurately record, document client calls, information, and Issues
Sound communication and interpersonal skills
Keen attention to detail
