Job Description
The Cost Accountant will work closely with warehouse, operations, and finance teams to maintain accurate inventory records, reconcile stock, and analyze costs associated with manufacturing and service operations. The role requires strong analytical skills, ERP system proficiency, and a firm grasp of standard costing methods. The successful candidate will also play a key role in budgeting, compliance, and the implementation of financial controls and policies.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Accounting
Maintain accurate records of inventory movement, including receipts, issues, transfers, and returns.
Reconcile physical stock with system records and investigate variances.
Conduct periodic inventory counts and coordinate with warehouse teams.
Collaborate with Supply Chain to optimize inventory and reduce obsolescence.
Cost Accounting & Analysis
Track and analyze costs in e-bus assembly and after-sales services.
Calculate and maintain standard costs for parts and components.
Prepare monthly cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory valuation reports.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing, including relevant journal entries.
Process AP, reimbursements, and other financial transactions.
Operational Finance Support
Develop and implement inventory and cost accounting procedures.
Provide cost analysis to inform pricing and procurement decisions.
Monitor inventory KPIs and suggest improvements for efficiency.
Conduct accounting reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting standards.
Support audits and assist in implementation of ERP and financial systems.
Enforce finance and procurement policies.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or ACCA qualification preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years in cost and inventory accounting, preferably in manufacturing or automotive sectors.
Skills & Competencies
Deep understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting methods (FIFO, weighted average, etc.)
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or Odoo.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Knowledge of CKD assembly and automotive inventory is an added advantage.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities.
Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
