Corporate Banker -Trade Finance job at KCB Bank

A Corporate Banker specializing in Trade Finance is responsible for providing financial solutions to corporate clients engaged in international and domestic trade. This role involves managing relationships with clients, structuring trade finance deals, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain a reliable portfolio of Trade customers for a focused growth strategy.
Deliver agreed product and income targets to enhance growth of the Trade Finance proposition.
Drive engagement and partnership with key stakeholders to facilitate growth of trade finance business.
Conduct trainings and embed product knowledge across sales teams for easy cross-selling and appreciation of Trade products.
Offer technical and product-based support to sales team as part of continuous capability building to manage and grow trade business across the network.
Constantly review the Bank’s Trade revenue collection in order to ensure all income leakages are closed.
Identify and follow up business leads, including but not limited to Credit approval and disbursement within agreed service standards.
Any other duties as may be allocated from time to time.

Education and Training
Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field is typically required. A master’s degree or MBA with a focus on finance or international business is often preferred.
Professional Certifications: Certifications such as Certified Trade Finance Professional (CTFP), Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS), or similar trade finance qualifications can be advantageous.
Training: Completion of specialized training programs in trade finance, international banking, and related areas.
Experience
Industry Experience: Several years of experience in corporate banking, trade finance, or related fields. Experience working with multinational corporations and understanding their financial needs is crucial.
Deal Structuring: Proven experience in structuring and managing trade finance deals, including letters of credit, guarantees, documentary collections, and supply chain finance.
Skills and Competencies
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, trade finance products, and international trade regulations.
Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess clients’ financial needs and risks, and to structure appropriate trade finance solutions.
Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams. Ability to explain complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
