Job Description
The Contracts Lead I will oversee contract management and procurement activities, ensuring effective and efficient sourcing and purchasing of goods and services. This position requires negotiating prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers, maintaining procurement records, monitoring contract compliance, and managing the overall contract lifecycle. The candidate will be expected to identify business value opportunities, mitigate risks, and foster relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key duties include the execution of Procure-to-Pay (PtP) processes in line with company policies, updating contract scopes and pricing, ensuring contract compliance, resolving supplier-related issues, and providing input into strategic sourcing activities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and maintain a portfolio of contracts and procurement agreements.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions directly with suppliers.
Execute PtP processes in compliance with procurement guidelines and control systems.
Update and monitor contract scope, pricing, exhibits, and amendments.
Ensure proper utilization and compliance of contracts.
Monitor vendor performance and address issues as they arise.
Identify business value opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes.
Implement strategic category guidance and share market intelligence.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
8–15 years of relevant experience in procurement, contracts, or supply chain management.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Proficient in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (PtP) processes and procurement systems.
Ability to ensure compliance and manage risk effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to create business value and drive efficiency.
