Monitor compliance and data practices internally to ensure the business and its functions comply with the applicable requirements under the Data Protection and Privacy Act.
Responsible for implementation of the data protection and Privacy policies and procedures and regular assessment of the data privacy and Protection practices of the bank in compliance with the Data.
Working with key internal stakeholders in the review of projects and related data to ensure
compliance with local data privacy laws.
Conduct regular assessments and audits to ensure full compliance with the Act.
Reviewing vendor contracts (including Model Clauses) and consents needed to implement projects in partnership with the bank’s Procurement and legal functions and ensuring compliance requirements with local regulators are achieved.
Monitoring changes to local privacy laws and making recommendations.
Conduct awareness trainings on data Protection and privacy for bank employees.
Collaborating with the Information Security function to maintain records of all data assets, data loss incidents and any data security breaches that may occur.
To liaise with internal stakeholders and ensure responses are provided to data subjects who make inquiries about the use and security of their personal data.
Ensure that all requests from data subjects to see copies of their personal data, have their personal data erased or changed are honored as per policy guidelines.
Ensure all reporting obligations of the bank are fulfilled.

Must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
Qualification in an ICT related field is an added advantage.
Possession of CDPO and or CDPSE is an added advantage.
Must have at least 3 years’ relevant experience in in the bank.
Highly analytical and able to prioritize needs, requirements, and other issues.
Proper Understanding of Banking regulations including and not limited to the FIA and DPPA
Good communications, teamwork, flexibility, and conflict management skills.
Good working knowledge of SLA’s and policies.
Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
Good working knowledge of information security principles, standards, frameworks and guidelines.
