Job Description
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Africa, and matrixed to the Director of Marketing, the Communications Manager will work closely with both regional and global marketing teams. The role is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies, managing storytelling initiatives, supporting regional teams with marketing resources, and maintaining brand consistency. The position requires strong writing and communication skills, creativity, and project management abilities to elevate the visibility and effectiveness of Cure Blindness Project’s operations within the Africa region.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement regional marketing/communications strategies
Lead storytelling initiatives to highlight regional impact and program focus areas
Manage content creation and ensure timely delivery of high-quality work
Support regional teams with marketing tools and on-brand materials
Represent and safeguard Cure Blindness Project’s brand and messaging
Refine and adapt communication products and channels for relevance and effectiveness
Provide media, social media, and branding support for milestone events
Utilize project management tools to enhance operational efficiency
Engage in cross-functional collaboration and maintain a positive team culture
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in marketing and communications, preferably in the Africa region and within non-profits or global organizations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to create content for diverse platforms
Self-starter with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Team player who values diversity and collaboration
Flexible and able to work off-hours when needed
Willingness to travel up to 20% (domestically and internationally)
Proficient in Google Workspace, MS Office, Asana, and Apple systems
Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Physical capacity to work on a computer for extended periods and lift up to 15 pounds
