Job Description
The Communication and Marketing Officer will be responsible for creating and implementing communication and branding strategies, developing publications and marketing content, managing public relations and media engagements, and supporting the production of newsletters, reports, and multimedia content. The officer will coordinate with the General Secretary and departmental heads to ensure UCA's communication goals align with organizational priorities, while also strengthening partnerships with media houses and key stakeholders. The role includes fieldwork, content development, event planning, and performance reporting.

How to Apply
Develop and disseminate quarterly newsletters and other UCA publications.
Plan and produce communication content (written, photo, and video).
Implement UCA’s communication and branding strategy.
Lead media relations, public relations campaigns, and press engagements.
Ensure UCA's physical assets are properly branded.
Write editorials and speeches as needed.
Track media coverage and sector trends.
Collaborate with internal departments to maintain consistent messaging.
Build partnerships and represent UCA at media and stakeholder events.
Report on departmental performance and provide strategic insights.
Execute any additional responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
A Master’s degree or Postgraduate qualification in Mass Communication, Marketing, Project Planning, HR, or Cooperatives is an added advantage.
Membership in a relevant professional body is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in a senior communication role.
Skills and Competencies:
Exceptional writing and editing skills in English.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and networking abilities.
Proficiency in photography, videography, Adobe Creative Suite (preferred).
Hands-on experience with social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok).
Strong organizational and stakeholder management skills.
Familiarity with cooperative business models.
PR strategy development and implementation.
Understanding of internet tools, desktop publishing, and multimedia.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently.
