Job Description
The Class Teacher will implement educational policies for preschool-level education and foster a conducive learning environment that supports the intellectual, emotional, and social development of children. The role includes preparing lesson notes aligned with the syllabus, teaching, assigning class and homework, evaluating performance, and guiding children through discipline and counselling. The teacher will also coordinate with parents, protect school property, and support extracurricular activities including field trips and cultural events.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Implement all preschool policies of both private and public education sectors.
Sensitize and encourage community enrollment of pupils.
Monitor and utilize teaching and learning materials effectively.
Liaise with parents and guardians on students’ academic and personal development.
Prepare detailed lesson notes according to the approved syllabus.
Teach and manage classroom activities.
Assign, mark, and correct both classwork and homework.
Maintain accurate records of students’ performance in the SBA (School-Based Assessment).
Ensure discipline and model good behavior.
Provide guidance and counseling to children.
Organize co-curricular activities including sports, field trips, and cultural events.
Set test items, administer tests, and record results.
Safeguard and maintain school properties.
Exhibit care and a nurturing approach in all interactions with children.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required Skills and Qualities:
Patience and excellent childcare abilities.
A good listener and highly innovative.
Strong command of English and the most commonly spoken Ghanaian language in the area.
Friendly, approachable, and child-focused.
Knowledgeable in early childhood education and syllabus-based teaching.
Ability to maintain discipline and manage classroom dynamics effectively.
Capable of offering guidance and emotional support to young learners.
