Provide leadership and operational direction for the implementation of the Citizens’ Action Against Corruption activity
Under the supervision of the Country Director, the Chief of Party will provide leadership and operational direction for the implementation of the Citizens’ Action Against Corruption activity;
Lead a dynamic team of experts, oversee activity coordination and management of sub-awardee, including planning, implementation, budget monitoring, facilitate learning and stakeholder engagement, risk assessment and mitigation.
The Chief of Party will serve as the Activity’s primary representative to USAID/Uganda, Government of Uganda (GOU), other donors, and key stakeholders and will be responsible for timely and accurate delivery of all reports and other program products under the activity.
A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any of the following fields: Political Science, Public Administration, Political Economy, Law, Development Studies, Public Policy, Governance, Philosophy, or any other related field.
At least eight (8) years’ experience in the management of a governance, accountability, or civic engagement program.
Demonstrated experience of leading a programme working with diverse stakeholders including state agencies, NGOs, formal and informal groups, networks and associations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Superior understanding of human rights-based approach (HRBA), power analysis, or any other participatory programming approaches and methodologies
Ability to work in a demanding environment, managing competing priorities, tight deadlines and fragile operating environment.
Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal, time and people management skills.
Must be a self-starter and fast learner with demonstrable abilities of a team player.
Experience implementing a USAID funded project is an added advantage
Ability to monitor and provide oversight over financial controls
Familiarity with the Development aid system and understanding of donor and governmental requirements.
Demonstrate success in managing and leading technical and administrative teams.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to coordinate activities with officials from host country government, US Government, NGOs, and other agencies.
Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Applications,
Willingness to travel to the field offices when required
