Job Description
The Chef De Partie plays a key operational role within the hotel’s kitchen by organizing and overseeing a designated kitchen section, preparing dishes to standard recipes, and ensuring food consistency and efficiency. The role contributes to achieving financial and productivity goals by controlling costs and reducing waste. Additionally, the role supports team mentorship, interdepartmental communication, and adherence to hygiene, safety, and hotel policy. The Chef De Partie also plays an active part in training culinary staff, maintaining kitchen equipment, and responding to departmental and guest feedback.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Guest & Client Relations
Deliver Hyatt’s brand promise and provide exceptional guest service.
Offer excellent internal customer service across departments.
Handle guest and internal complaints courteously and efficiently.
Financial
Maximize employee productivity through multi-skilling and flexible scheduling.
Manage utility and payroll costs prudently.
Embrace modern technology to enhance productivity.
Operational
Review the food and beverage department’s progress regularly.
Set up the assigned kitchen section for maximum productivity.
Prepare dishes consistently using standard recipes.
Monitor food and operational costs; reduce wastage.
Train culinary staff on required skills for their section.
Work in different kitchen sections as needed.
Uphold kitchen sanitation standards and equipment maintenance.
Implement changes based on operational feedback and performance tools.
Employee Handling
Maintain professional relationships with all employees.
Communicate openly with colleagues and supervisors.
Collaborate across departments to resolve kitchen-related issues.
Provide support, mentorship, and training to junior staff.
Follow safety and SOPs; promote a respectful and professional culture.
Resolve conflicts amicably and promote mutual support.
Participate in continuous learning and encourage feedback culture.
Respond to Colleague Experience Survey outcomes.
Administrative
Participate in all training sessions and meetings.
Stay updated on employment and industrial relations legislation.
Adapt to changes in the food and beverage industry, hotel, and company requirements.

Represent the hotel professionally at all times.
Maintain excellent grooming and personal presentation.
Perform multi-tasking and other reasonable duties as assigned.
Support management in achieving hotel success and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Culinary Degree / Diploma or equivalent
Food Safety Certification
Prior experience in a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation
Effective team leadership and communication skills
High standards of hygiene and safety practices
Adaptability, creativity, and attention to detail
