Job Description

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing bank reconciliations, generating financial reports, assisting with budget management, and ensuring tax compliance. The role also involves processing payroll, managing expenses, and overseeing financial transactions using QuickBooks. The ideal candidate will work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to the financial efficiency of the organization.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations

  • Prepare financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual)

  • Assist in budget preparation and provide financial insights

  • Ensure payroll accuracy in coordination with HR

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations

  • Oversee expense reports and petty cash management

  • Use and maintain accounting software (QuickBooks required)

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required)

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
