Job Description
As a Beneficiary Caretaker, you will be responsible for the direct care and daily management of beneficiaries at the Imprint Hope Center. This includes overseeing meal schedules, ensuring the availability of necessary supplies, following center routines, and providing a safe and nurturing environment. You will work closely with the operations, psychosocial, and medical teams to ensure all physical, emotional, and medical needs are addressed. You are also expected to promptly report emergencies, maintenance, or security concerns and uphold IH’s core values at all times.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure all beneficiaries have necessary supplies during their stay.
Maintain daily records of materials received and distributed.
Report dietary or feeding needs to the Operations Manager.
Enforce adherence to evening and weekend timetables.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager on supply stock levels.
Report emergencies and manage initial response.
Provide a welcoming and supportive presence to beneficiaries.
Report maintenance and security concerns.
Refer medical or nutritional needs to nursing staff.
Monitor compound exits and enforce guest policies.
Reside on-site nightly (5 PM–8 AM) and be available most weekends.
Foster a compassionate and structured environment.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Minimum: A-level/Secondary school diploma
Advantageous: University diploma
Strong experience may substitute formal education
Experience:
Prior work with children and families from vulnerable backgrounds
Experience with rural or disabled populations is a plus
Training in organizational and caregiving skills
Familiarity with disabilities is an advantage
Skills & Competencies:
Fluent in English and Luganda
Basic English writing skills
Basic computer literacy
High integrity, empathy, and compassion
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage stress and multitask
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
Willingness to live and work at the center
