Job Summary: The Assistant Systems Administrator position is responsible managing and maintaining FINCA Uganda’s computer systems and networks.

Installing and configuring operating systems, software applications, and network services.
Setting up user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Managing LANs (Local Area Networks), WANs (Wide Area Networks), and intranets.
Implementing security measures, systems including end point protection to protect against unauthorized access, viruses, and malware.
Regularly backing up data and ensuring disaster recovery systems and processes are operational.
Assisting employees with technical issues, including hardware and software problems.
Providing training and documentation for system usage
Maintaining servers, workstations, printers, and other hardware components.
Diagnosing and resolving hardware failures.
Keeping software up to date by applying patches and updates.
Ensuring installation and compliance with software & hardware licensing requirements.
Coordinating with other I.T administrators to optimize system performance.
Participating in planning for technology upgrades, purchases and improvements
Bachelor of Computer Science or related fields
Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Unix and Microsoft.
At least 2 years work experience within a technical support environment, including hardware, software and network support experience in a Financial/Banking sector
Skills in Linux/Unix/Windows system administration
Knowledge of Enterprise Infrastructure (Servers, Storage, Switching) and Active Directory.
