Job Description

Reporting to the Deputy Head of IT, the Assistant Manager will plan, execute, and monitor IT operations to ensure effective service delivery. The role includes managing IT infrastructure, system administration, and cybersecurity activities while monitoring IT expenditure for cost-effectiveness. The Assistant Manager will supervise technical officers, ensure the deployment and maintenance of hardware and software, manage vendor relationships, and evaluate technology solutions. The position requires proactive monitoring of cyber threats, conducting regular risk assessments, and implementing incident response strategies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, with 2+ years in supervisory/managerial roles.

  • Professional certifications (advantageous): PMP, CISM, CISSP, ITIL, COBIT.

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, systems integration, and IT architecture.

  • Experience in financial services, extractives, government agencies, or international organisations (advantageous).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and supervisory ability.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.

  • Knowledge of cost-effective IT resource management.
