Job Description
Ensuring that all electrical-mechanical components are in good work condition to effect successful water supply in refugee settlements. These may include pumps, motors, control panels, Grid, Diesel generators and solar generators.
Duties and Responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities
In liaison with the electro-mechanical engineer, support in the designing of PV hybrid solar systems for operationalization at water pumping stations
Carryout robust trouble shooting of control circuits, repair of surface and submersible pumps, carrying out preventive and conditional based maintenance on electromechanical equipment.
competency in reading design specification and engineering drawings
Contributes to the analysis of pump failures & circuitry mail- functionality problems, recommending best corrective actions.
Monitoring on site the installation of new electromechanical systems and maintenance of existing systems.
Ensures timely readiness to efficiently tackle emergencies or urgent breakdowns as programmed.
Develop operation and maintenance manuals, for all electromechanical equipment and acclimatize the plant operators on operation procedures
Support the Electrical-mechanical Engineer in control of the operation and maintenance budget, ensuring planning and follow-up on key tasks & costs through executing effective solutions to achieve budget and to meet or exceed targets for the assigned duties undertake duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by immediate manager.

Qualifications and Competencies
Technical skills
Being proficient with Microsoft office software
Proficiency with Engineering CAD Software e.g. (Arpanet and AutoCAD)
Possess a valid riding permit class A
Having knowledge of varying languages like Kiswahili and Kinyabwisha
Educational Requirements
Should have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering Automotive and power or equivalent education/ experience.
Minimum 3 years' experience dealing with Surface pump repairs, submersible pumps, solar PV design and water supply maintenance.
Experience in sizing of pumps
Must have strong knowledge on water treatment and water supply.
