Job Description
The role involves assisting in the overall leadership of the hotel’s food and beverage services by executing the brand’s strategies, managing teams, and maintaining high service standards. The Assistant Director ensures departmental goals align with the hotel’s objectives, supports team communication and training, and enhances customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and a guest-focused mindset.
The position includes responsibility for developing operating strategies, promoting innovative service delivery, supervising food and beverage teams, reviewing financial performance, enforcing company policies, and ensuring operational compliance. The Assistant Director will be key in driving revenue and fostering a culture of excellence among the F&B staff.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and execute food and beverage strategies aligned with business goals
Lead and support restaurant, bar, room service, and banquet teams
Coordinate communication across food and beverage departments
Monitor staffing levels and schedule to ensure operational success
Review business performance reports and take corrective actions
Ensure compliance with brand standards and service expectations
Forecast and manage inventory including food, wine, and liquor
Oversee purchasing of supplies and equipment
Handle guest feedback to improve service delivery
Enforce cash and liquor control policies
Recruit, train, and evaluate team performance
Ensure consistent application of disciplinary procedures and HR policies
Conduct performance reviews and training sessions for staff
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED with at least 6 years’ experience in food and beverage, culinary, or event managementOR
2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field, plus 4 years of experience in the relevant areas
Key Competencies:

Deep understanding of food and beverage operations

Ability to manage diverse teams and multitask
