Job Description
The successful candidates will provide practical support to artisans and operational staff in maintaining and developing the electrical distribution network. Duties will focus on non-energised networks, including assisting with tasks on-site, handling tools and equipment, and ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The Artisan Assistant will work under supervision, executing project-related instructions, maintaining equipment, and rotating between teams to gain multiskilling exposure. The role requires physical fitness, teamwork, and a willingness to work shifts.

Carry out tasks and duties on the electrical distribution network as instructed by the supervisor.
Assist in project-related work to ensure set deadlines are met.
Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe and continuous site operations.
Adhere strictly to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993).
Support operational teams by working on a rotational basis to enhance multiskilling.
Contribute to reliable and safe service delivery.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Basic literacy.
Relevant experience in a local authority electrical network environment (advantage).
Physically fit and healthy.
Willingness and ability to work shifts.
Must undergo a criminal record check and consent to fingerprinting by the Tshwane Metro Police Department (at own cost).
Personal Attributes/Competencies: Positive attitude, dependability, trustworthiness, good communication skills, good health, and the ability to understand and follow supervisors’ instructions.
