Job Description
This role involves managing and supporting business-critical systems, including solution enhancement, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The specialist will ensure adherence to ICT policies, support service level agreements (SLAs), and proactively monitor system performance. The position also entails providing first and second-line support, documenting procedures, facilitating incident management, and contributing to continuous process improvement aligned with ITIL standards. Strong collaboration across cross-functional teams and stakeholder communication is essential, especially for managing risks, change processes, and ensuring business continuity.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Support and maintain enterprise systems, including first and second-line technical support
Manage business system integrations (data analytics, financial systems, communication systems)
Identify and implement ICT-based process efficiency improvements
Proactively monitor systems for availability, performance, and capacity
Ensure systems are adequately sized and meet SLAs
Maintain accurate documentation and system procedures
Provide clear stakeholder communication on support issues and resolutions
Test new functionalities before deployment; approve acceptance tests
Escalate significant risks to the IT Applications Manager
Ensure timely incident management, root cause analysis, and service continuity
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Knowledge of Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Databases, Agile tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience:
At least 3 years in a busy IT system environment or software development
Proven experience in system analysis, database design, and IT support operations
Experience supporting TurnQuest General Insurance System is an added advantage
Competencies:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of ITIL, incident and change management processes
Understanding of BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) industry
Ability to manage systems/process changes and coordinate cross-functional efforts
Strong governance, compliance, and audit readiness focus
