We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join NFT Consult. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with local accounting regulations and IFRS and GAAP. The accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Record all financial transactions in the accounting software.
Bank Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank statements regularly to ensure accuracy.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Manage and process invoices and payments.
Track and follow up on accounts receivable.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Provide financial analysis and insights to management.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Tax Compliance:
Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns.
Stay informed about changes in local tax regulations.
Internal Controls:
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
Audit Support:
Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits.
Address audit queries and recommendations.
Payroll Processing:
Collaborate with HR and the MS Delivery Team for accurate and timely payroll processing.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with the international reporting and accounting standards and regulations.
Keep conversant of changes in financial regulations affecting the company.
Ad-hoc Financial Tasks:
Undertake special financial analysis projects as required.

Education, Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable.
Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably a minimum 5 years
Knowledge of Ugandan regulations and tax laws.
Proficient in the use of accounting software preferably Pastel and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
