Job Description
Job Title: Project Officer (2 Fresher NGO Jobs)
Organisation: Wilmat Development Foundation
Duty Station: Bugweri and Mbale Districts, Uganda
Reports to: Head of Programs & Strategy
The Project Officer will coordinate and implement two core programs at Wilmat Development Foundation: the Vocational Skilling Project under the Wilmat Skilling Facility and the Agriculture and Microfinance Programs. The role involves managing the planning, execution, and evaluation of training programs in vocational skills such as tailoring and hairdressing while also overseeing agricultural initiatives and microfinance activities to enhance the livelihoods of program beneficiaries.
The Project Officer will mobilize community members, monitor project performance, build partnerships, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements. The role demands hands-on engagement with program participants, capacity building, and effective reporting to ensure that both programs deliver sustainable and impactful outcomes.

How to Apply
Oversee the day-to-day implementation of vocational skilling, agriculture, and microfinance programs.
Ensure program activities align with organizational goals and donor expectations.
Manage microfinance activities, including savings groups, credit systems, and financial literacy training.
Support bloc farming activities, organize farmer training, and ensure the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices.
Coordinate vocational training sessions in tailoring, hairdressing, and other skills, ensuring learners have access to materials and resources.
Organize and deliver training sessions on vocational skills, sustainable farming practices, and financial literacy.
Mobilize community members to participate in the skilling, agriculture, and microfinance programs and other roles.
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Business Admin, Microfinance, Social Work or a related field.
At least 1 year of experience managing vocational skilling program, agricultural programs, OVC, or VSLAs/microfinance initiatives in a nonprofit or community setting.
Strong knowledge of skills-based training, climate-smart agricultural practices, and group savings methodologies.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proactive, results-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
