Job Description
A Programme Presenter (Radio) is responsible for hosting radio shows, engaging with audiences, and delivering content that aligns with the station’s format and objectives. The role involves a variety of tasks to ensure that programs are entertaining, informative, and professionally presented.
Duties and Responsibilities
Show Preparation and Planning
Content Planning: Develop and plan the content of radio programs, including selecting music, topics, interviews, and features.
Script Writing: Write and prepare scripts or outlines for shows, including talking points, segues, and promotional content.
Research: Conduct research on topics, guests, and current events relevant to the program’s content.
On-Air Presentation
Broadcasting: Host live or pre-recorded radio shows, presenting content clearly and engagingly.
Audience Engagement: Interact with listeners through live calls, social media, and on-air contests or promotions.
Voice and Delivery: Maintain a professional and appealing voice, with proper articulation, tone, and pacing.
Guest Management
Guest Coordination: Invite and coordinate with guests for interviews or segments, including scheduling and preparing them for their appearance.
Interviewing: Conduct interviews with guests, ensuring that questions are relevant and that the conversation flows smoothly.

Qualifications and Competencies
Minimum of a Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication Possession of professional qualifications and being a member of a professional body is an added advantage
Experience
At least 1-year work experience in the radio setup
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Performance skills and a clear voice
The ability to generate original ideas
A personable and confident manner
A broad range of interests, including current affairs
Good research and interviewing skills
The confidence and the ability to sell yourself.
An awareness of national and international media law
The ability to take initiative and make quick decisions under pressure
Team working skills creativity and problem-solving skills
